Junior Welder and Yard Worker

The Company:

Our client is an established supplier to the building and construction industry who have 40 years under their belt and due to success and growth, they are looking for an additional employee to join their company. They supply the UK’s largest housing developers as well as private clients, nationwide and offer specialist service and products to them. Their spacious modern offices located in Yatton, Bristol are situated on the companies 1.5 acre site with on-site parking facilities and within a 5 minute walk from Yatton Train Station.

The Role:

Our client is seeking a Junior Welder / Yard Worker. This role is working for a company in Yatton and is an opportunity for a Junior Welder to work with alongside their Senior Welder for MIG welding of mild steel universal beams for National housebuilders. The work will also involve the use of band saws for cutting to length of structural steelwork and steel lintels along with drilling, general fabrication and yard duties such as collating customer orders from stock items, receiving goods, supporting customer collections and stock control.

Duties will include:

Preparation of steelwork for welding (Grinding & Tak welding)

Fully Welding Steel beams to plates

Steelwork fabrication

Cutting of steel lintels to length on band saw

Drilling Steelwork with MAG drills

Stock control - receiving inward goods and putting away materials

Order picking materials to client order

General warehouse duties

Forklift driving (training can be provided on job).

The Person:

For this role our client is looking for someone who ideally has Qualifications in welding and steelwork fabrication are essential with the ability to be able to read fabrication drawings. Forklift licence a benefit but not essential.

The Hours:

Monday - Friday 8-5pm working 40 hours per week
