Junior Team Leader / Logistics

Location: Rochester

Salary: £24, 960 - £29, 120+ Overtime (2 weekends per month)

Monday: Friday 14:00 - 22:00

They can support you from order inception to order fulfilment worldwide. We simplify the international eCommerce process by offering a one-stop logistics capability, dedicated team serving each customer, and an easy-to-use system with API/EDI technology to trace and track the orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the shift lead to strategise staff allocation and duties.
  • Foster a cohesive team environment alongside the AM shift lead.
  • Assist in training new staff and mentoring existing team members.
  • Step up to cover shift lead duties when necessary.
  • Cultivate positive relationships within all operational aspects.
  • Assist internal logistics when needed, maintaining professionalism in communication.
  • Participate in staff briefings and management meetings.
  • Support goods in operation, ensuring adherence to processes and troubleshooting issues.
  • Safely unload trailers and oversee the unloading process.
  • Report errors to customers via email and maintain logs on Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded correctly and complete material transfer notes.
  • Take a hands-on approach to tasks.
  • Assist in the goods out process on the shop floor, filling in operational gaps as required.
  • Proactively resolve scanner issues during operations.
  • Take initiative in closing orders on scanners at dispatch and resolving related issues.
  • Utilise handheld scanners to ensure accurate picking of parts.
  • Manage the departure of drivers, ensuring completion of paperwork and stock loading.
  • Develop proficiency in our internal Warehouse Management System (WMS) and support operations as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and monitor tidy down times for productivity.
  • Report all accidents and near misses, adhering to best practices consistently.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Always ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols.
