Junior Solutions Architect

City of London (hybrid)

Circa £60,000 + Bonus + Bens

Prestigious Insurance firm

My client is a top London Market insurer who are looking for a Junior Solutions Architect to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be early in their tech career (2-4 years) and have a degree in Maths or Science.

If candidates have done any certifications such as AWS, Solutions Architect or working with Agile, this is advantageous.

This is a top insurer within the speciality area and career progression is guaranteed as well as training and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with the Technical Leads to provide technology and architecture support for GRSI Regulatory, Risk & Group Functions portfolio initiatives.

Producing parts of and supporting the end-to-end architecture for initiatives

Supporting key architecture decisions for projects and aligning stakeholders to a proposed approach

Communicating the architecture, key design decisions and approaches on assigned initiatives to key stakeholders, project bodies, relevant governance/ assurance forums including the Architecture Review Board

Collaborate and work with Product Owners, Product Analysts and Developers which help achieve the GRSI technology outcomes.

Facilitating and participating in detailed design reviews and ensuring that all components of the solution are aligned to the target state vision.

Contribute to Portfolio level 30/60/90-day planning sessions.

Skills and experience-

Candidates early in their tech careers (2-4 years)

We can look at job titles such as Application Developer, Cloud Developer/Engineer, Data Engineer

HM is not looking for very experienced candidates as they want to be able to adapt and mould someone into the role.

A good degree in Science, Maths is required 2:1 or above.

If candidates have done any certifications such as AWS, Solutions Architect that's a plus.

Intelligent, good communicator and willing to learn.

Producing parts of and supporting the end-to-end architecture for a project, spanning disparate software and infrastructure components

Supporting key architecture decisions for projects and aligning stakeholders to a proposed approach

Modelling current and future state architecture design

Good knowledge of enterprise integration patterns

Agile experience is advantageous.

In this role the person will gain exposure to a range of initiatives; Reg and Risk (DORA, Enterprise Management, Procurement, Operations Resilience); HR, Finance, ERM, Actuarial

Progression - 2-3 years they would look to move to a Tech Leah or Architect internally.

Background, open for now but consultancy or Finance/Insurance is desirable.
