Scope of Position:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and Senior Manufacturing Engineer in an exciting and fast paced vehicle production facility, you will perform a variety of tasks to maintain production and quality by: problem solving, designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing production processes, maintaining work instructions and build documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consulting on and resolving issues as they arise
- Design, develop, and implement production processes and equipment.
- Develop, maintain, validate and approve work instructions
- Support design engineers from multiple divisions, both remotely and on-site
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to resolve problems
- Understand the Bill of Materials and assembly sequence
- Support the change management process, including line trials and final validation of new parts
- Drive engineering improvement by identifying opportunities and implementing changes while ensuring a robust response to issues
- Planning activities relating to implementation of new equipment, process or changes to existing equipment and processes
- Participate in continuous improvement program
- Progress reporting and meetings with Management and Engineering Team
- Working in a safe manner, following safety procedures in an automotive assembly environment
- Following ISO 9001 and TS16949 manufacturing requirements
- Follow all relevant procedures where applicable as indicated in the General Procedures section of the level III Procedure manual
- Perform other duties as required

Basic Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and problem-solving methods
- Understanding of logical problem-solving techniques and how these are implemented
- Comfortable managing and prioritising multiple activities and timelines
- Demonstrable knowledge of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques
- Demonstrable knowledge of engineering, process, and product development
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision in fast paced environment, meeting tight deadlines
- Results driven, enthusiastic and energetic
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to question current thinking in a non-confrontational way
- A willingness to learn
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A team player, able to lead, motivate, and support other team members
- Understanding of Microsoft product suite including PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Basic understanding of CAD

Additional Requirements:
- Driving License beneficial
- Previous or equivalent of automotive experience beneficial
- Familiarity with low and niche volume assembly methods beneficial
- Understanding or experience of hybrid vehicles beneficial
- Ability to understand engineering drawings
