Job title: Junior Formulation Chemist (permanent and full time)

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £24k - £26k p/annum plus benefits

Hours: Monday - Friday, days only

Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Junior Formulation Chemist to assist in the formulation and application testing on various products according to standard test methods. This is a great opportunity for a recent Chemistry graduate who has an interest in product formulation and testing. An interest in Polymer Chemistry would be a great advantage. You would be joining a friendly team who will support you on your journey to becoming a successful Formulation Chemist. 

Responsibilities in the role

  • Assisting in developing and application testing new coatings formulations under the guidance of the Senior Chemist.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer requirements.
  • Produce reports on projects and results from film properties testing.
  • Covers for any staff holidays/sickness, including in quality control.
  • Assist in general duties

Qualifications and desired personal attributes required

  • Degree in Chemistry or a related Scientific discipline
  • Has perseverance and is proactive
  • Enjoys problem solving.
  • Is methodical with a logical approach and good attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Has excellent communication skills, as will need to communicate written and verbally with customers
  • Excellent team player
