Junior EU Roadfreight Import Clerk

Our client, who specialise in Freight Forwarding through multimodal services, are currently seeking a Junior EU Roadfreight Import Clerk for their team based in Essex.

The main role of the Junior EU Roadfreight Import Clerk is to assist the Department manager, helping to ensure the smooth running of the department, and also assisting with the training of new staff when required.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be liaising with customers and agents, finding out their needs and requirements for orders to ensure all deliveries are complete promptly.

Duties of the Junior EU Roadfreight Import Clerk:

• Enter jobs and manifests onto the company system.
• Assist in the preparation of import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs clearance forms.
• Gather all necessary information from Hauliers of arrival and departure times.
• Provide the warehouse with required information, ensuring trailers are off-loaded efficiently.
• Ensure spreadsheets are kept updated with all relevant information.
• Calculate costs and prices for certain manifests.
• Assist with the pricing and invoicing of manifests for import services.
• Help organize and file all relevant import documentation for easy retrieval.

The successful Junior EU Roadfreight Import Clerk will have at least 1 years' Office and Admin experience.

We are looking for candidates who have first-class customer service skills, a strong telephone manner and experience dealing with customers.

Having previous experience working within the Freight or Logistics industry would be an advantage.

Experience required:

• Must have a minimum GSCE Grade of 5 and above in Maths & English
• A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Ideally some familiarity with European Roadfreight import regulations and customs procedures, but this is not essential.
