Adecco are recruiting on behalf of our incredible manufacturing client, a forward-thinking, industrial organisation, as they are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Junior Buyer. If you have a passion for building relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the smooth procurement of materials, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Location: Birchwood, Warrington

Role: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Friday - 8:00am - 3:30pm - flexible!

Salary: Dependent on candidate experience and working hours

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive and long-term relationships with our client's valued suppliers.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify new suppliers and make recommendations to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Obtain quotes for materials requested by the Sales department in line with customer RFQ.
  • Evaluate quotes, negotiate prices and delivery terms to secure the best price and quality.
  • Raise Purchase Orders and maintain accurate records in the Oracle MRP/ERP system.
  • Track order progress to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of items and quantities.
  • Update and maintain internal databases and ERP system with records of orders, deliveries, invoices, contracts, and supplier approvals.
  • Identify and ensure compliance with quality standards for all products.
  • Communicate any supply chain delays and risks to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor inventory levels, including participating in stock take planning.
  • Provide support to the Production team with efficient office operations.
  • Generate inter-company purchase orders for raw materials and consumables.
  • Take responsibility for factory MROs and office consumables.

Essential Experience, Qualifications & Skills:

  • Customer-focused with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong administration skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Experience with Oracle MRP/ERP systems would be beneficial.
