Hours - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm

The Recruitment Group is working with a family-run business with over 20 years of experience supplying products to retailers nationally. They are a leading furniture importer/wholesaler in the UK that has grown to be one of the largest companies in the furniture sector. They have designed their services to help companies grow their product categories beyond their standard offering, with a worldwide manufacturing network. They pride themselves on being an efficient, dynamic company setting trends for others to follow.

Purpose of the Junior Buyer role:
Our client is looking for a Junior Buyer to provide assistance to multiple areas within the business including key stakeholders, marketing, imports, and the sales team. You will be supplying data and supply information as required to assist the flow of information through those departments.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Junior Buyer:
. Provide a GAP analysis to ensure that all categories are performing to the best of their ability and products are on trend at the right price.
. Identify key innovative market trends and present findings with clear costings and proposals on new product development.
. Supporting the team to research trends that aid in creating the product range. This involves competitive shopping, sales analysis, and reviewing market data.
. Know the product range inside out ensuring all range build documents/boards are kept up to date along with accurately creating new products on the system.
. Ensuring cost prices are accurate - this involves chasing prices from suppliers, landing prices from around the world, and checking prices on our databases.
. Manage samples for the buyer which includes range signoffs, photo studio, and mock shop making sure updates are given in the critical path meetings.
. Working with the Web team ensuring all content and images are obtained from our suppliers on time.
. Build a good rapport with suppliers and support in supplier meetings which could include negotiating costs or feeding back on samples.
. Support the Buyer with promotions including buying special purchases. This can also involve buying seasonal promotional ranges for Seasonal Campaigns.
. Continuous benchmarking by reviewing what the competition is doing in the market both with pricing and ranges to ensure our ranges remain competitive in the market.
. Follow the full end to end process of new items, including product launch and monitoring to ensure that items are on our top customer websites.

Experience/knowledge requirements for the Junior Buyer:
. Creative and a real passion for homewares and the energy to constantly innovate and drive forward the product offer.
. Experience in a buying role in a similar industry.
. Hardworking with a strong "can do" attitude.
. Excellent communication skills.
. Desirable - Has experience of using Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central.
. Highly organised, with a clear ability to be able to prioritise workload.
. Good attention to detail.
. Proficient in excel.
