Junior Buyer - Premium Food & Beverage

What is expected of you?

• International buying experience of exceptional and food & beverage products.
• Ensure that innovation and creativity is at the forefront of all new supplier selection with a focus on sustainability and ethical sourcing.
• Play a key role in the development of new ideas and products through creative buying & sourcing.
• Create a reliable, motivated supplier roster with the ability to supply premium products at speed.
• Manage new contracts and on-going negotiations with suppliers to ensure the highest quality at the right price.
• Manage supply issues and problems with suppliers/ manufacturers ensuring all parties are aware of the supply road map.
• Manage supplier reviews, selection and management of performance
• Manage supplier reporting & analysis on performance and cost saving
• Conduct regular market reports and analysis to ensure optimum supplier selection

As a successful SME going through sustained growth it is essential that the Junior buyer is a hugely proactive individual who will lead from the front and provide the following experience -

• Knowledge and experience of buying food & beverage products from around the world.
• Knowledge and experience of buying high quality packaging materials & finished goods.
• Some experience of sourcing innovative and high quality food & beverage products would be advantageous.
• Experience of managing contract negotiations between new and existing suppliers.
• Superb communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent number cruncher and experience with excel & ERP systems
• Hugely proactive individual, able to think outside the box under pressure
• Ideally you have experience of working within a start-up or fast growth SME
