  • Assembling, checking, and preparing the appropriate anaesthetic equipment, emergency drugs, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures incorporating various types of anaesthesia.
  • Conducting mandatory patient safety checks in conjunction with the team and according to policy, including a 'pause' prior to administration of regional anaesthesia.
  • Assisting the Anaesthetist throughout the perioperative phase of care.
  • Assisting the Anaesthetist in monitoring the patient's condition throughout the procedure, taking appropriate action to manage any complications arising through contingency planning.
  • Working as part of the operating team to provide safe quality care to the patient throughout the procedure.
  • Monitor the patient's condition throughout the phase of care, taking appropriate action to manage any arising complications through contingency planning.
  • Proactively monitor the patient's level of discomfort/pain and take appropriate action to ensure the patient is comfortable.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
  • 12-months experience in a theatre setting is desirable
  • Mentorship Qualification
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and associated software
  • Flexible and adaptable
