IT Technician - North West London - Up to £25,000 per annum.

My client specialises in tailored IT solutions for educational institutions, aiming to enrich learning environments through technology. They offer an array of services, spanning IT infrastructure management, technical support, and strategic consulting, is geared towards optimizing operational efficiency while fostering engaging teaching and learning experiences.

Position Overview:

We're currently seeking a skilled and motivated IT Technician to provide on-site support to a Secondary School and Primary School within a Multi Academy Trust based in North West London. This role presents an exciting opportunity for career advancement and involvement in a dynamic, growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver frontline technical support to staff and students, swiftly resolving IT issues.
  • Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining IT hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and backups, to uphold system reliability and security.
  • Install, configure, and offer support for software applications, including productivity suites and educational tools.
  • Aid in the setup and maintenance of audio/visual equipment for presentations and meetings.
  • Document IT procedures and resolutions to enhance support efficiency.
  • Provide user training and develop instructional materials as required.
  • Assist in IT inventory management, encompassing procurement and asset tracking.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices, actively sharing knowledge with colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Possession of a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in technical support, preferably within an educational environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities in hardware, software, and networking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office suite, Active Directory and common software applications.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Customer-centric approach with a dedication to delivering quality support.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are advantageous.
