IT Systems Team Leader

We are currently recruiting for an IT Systems Team Leader on behalf of our public sector client based in East London.

The successful applicant will have 4 years' experience as a technical team leader / manager in a similar role, with experience of managing and leading a technical team of four people or more.

The role is a contract role initially for 3 to 6 months with view for further extension. The role is paying £29.66 per hour PAYE or £36.95 per hour Umbrella.

• Reporting into the Network Services Manager, this role will be responsible for support and development of critical IT infrastructure services which are used to deliver access to applications in a secure and optimised manner to end users
• Delivery of a Business as Usual (BAU) service through the management of incidents and service requests in line with the organisations SLA, providing a positive IT experience to the council. The core BAU support elements of the role are to provide 2nd and 3rd line support to customers
• Requires support for the IT technical scoping and implementation of new IT projects and technologies, ensuring team resources are managed and assigned to support project needs, projects deliver on their stated aims in compliance with policy and best practice, projects are seamlessly transitioned into BAU service, whilst maintaining the existing BAU service
• The role will require both team management duties and technical hands-on work, complex technical expertise of Operating systems, Microsoft 365 and Azure, Cloud infrastructure principles, virtualisation and cyber security and their frameworks are all essential

Key Skills/Experience required

• Technical knowledge of Microsoft Products including Azure Public Cloud architectures, Windows and Linux Operating systems, Microsoft 365, Virtualisation
• Experience of IT service management tools, developing and deploying the tools to best suit the needs of the team
• Experience of managing and leading a Technical IT team of four people or more, using the resources available to deliver an excellent operational support service and working on IT projects to satisfy organisational objective, from scoping through to delivery and transition into operations
