This is a rapidly growing, forward thinking IT Support Company that provides a wide range of IT services to small and medium sized businesses across Manchester and beyond. 
The Company is located near Cheadle Hulme Train Station. 

Overview:  
As an IT Support Engineer Apprentice, you will be part of the Support Team, providing 1st line support to a wide range of SMEs from many different industries. 

Main responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to:] 

  • Providing first line technical support to customers, assisting them with IT related issues over the phone and via remote access
  • Basic technical trouble shooting (e.g. password resets; cabling; access; workstation configuration; virus removal, data recovery)
  • Building PC's, configuring machines, hardware repairs
  • Setting up and maintaining computers, server systems and networks, as well as dealing with the installation of software
  • Liaise with and assign incidents to correct team members (dependent on their role/ technical skill)
  • Support Senior Support Engineer with proactive support e.g. server maintenance, antivirus installation, software updates
  • Be responsible for resolution of tickets assigned by the Support Team Leader
  • Maintain excellent customer service when dealing with queries as well as logging all Helpdesk calls accurately

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week: 
Working either: 8:00am - 4:00pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm, with 1 hour lunch [5 days per week]
