IT Service Manager -North West London - Up to £50,000 per annum

My client is looking for an IT Service Manager to efficiently oversee the Service Desk operations for the entire IT Team. This will involve ensuring prompt and effective handling of incidents and service requests, from initial response to resolution. Monitoring service desk metrics allowing for swift intervention in case of deviations from SLAs and quality standards. Coordinating issue troubleshooting and timely escalation, as needed, ensuring smooth IT/AV support for school staff and students daily.

Key Skills the IT Service Manager will have:

  • Experienced IT Manager proficient in M365, demonstrating strong organizational and decision-making abilities from previous IT department leadership roles.
  • Operate autonomously, overseeing day-to-day IT operations, serving as a technical escalation point, and efficiently managing the Service Desk and workloads amidst a high-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Possess a robust IT operational skill set, ensuring the delivery of quality IT services, with expertise spanning from back-end networking to front-end device management.
  • Skilled in supporting and maintaining Windows 10/11 OS, with proficiency in AAD and Intune, along with hands-on experience in managing Audio Visual Equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to compliment technical proficiency, facilitating effective collaboration and problem-solving.

The successful candidate will act as an overflow IT/AV Technician when required and serve as an escalation point offering 2nd and 3rd line support to further facilitate a seamless operation and keeping the standards high. Adhering to the ITIL framework ensures efficient delivery of operational services, while also serving as a key point of contact for IT service delivery (although an ITIL certification is not necessary, HANDS-ON experience is).

Additionally, you will be managing the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of computer hardware and software systems according to defined standards like Autopilot and Intune, and ensuring adherence to documented procedures, is essential. Overseeing IT projects to ensure timely delivery in accordance with Agile PM and the 12 Agile Principles, managing asset lists, equipment stocks, software licenses, and the Loan Device Management System, and maintaining up-to-date IT documentation and knowledge base contributions round out the responsibilities to ensure a well-functioning IT environment.

To thrive in this role, you must have the technical and managerial experience but there is a massive focus on soft skills. The successful candidate will have fantastic skills in:

Your role will entail adeptly managing Service Desk platforms and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations. Proficiency in ITIL and Incident Management is essential, alongside the ability to analyse data, recognize potential issues and trends, and articulate findings to enable informed actions, decision-making, and adaptation.
