Do you have a passion for working in the education sector and helping to shape lives, our client based in Taunton are looking to find an Isolation Room Manager to supervise the students. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking full time hours but in a term time only role working 8.30am - 4.05pm Monday - Friday.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising students and maintaining a disciplined and purposeful working environment by managing behaviour and ensuring that appropriate and differentiated resources are available for students (e.g. resources, activities, textbooks) and students understand what is expected of them.
  • Supporting the Reflection Room Manager when necessary and to cover breaks and lunchtimes.
  • Liaising with teachers and establishing positive and productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model, providing support, encouragement, guidance and assistance for learning, independence, practical activities and social skills.
  • Ensure the Isolation room is fully resourced at all times, with equipment necessary to enable students to make progress to the best of their ability.
  • Implement strategies to support students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance in the Isolation Room and update the school Class Charts database accordingly and contribute to a behaviour log.
  • Liaise with parents as necessary either by phone or in person. Undertake administration duties in support of the Isolation Room when student supervision is not needed.
  • Run after school detentions as appropriate Read, understand and adhere to relevant policies e.g. Health & Safety, Code of Conduct etc.


SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a busy school environment.
  • The ability to work within a high pressure environment and to keep calm when under pressure
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and to remain impartial.
  • A willingness to attend appropriate training and development where required


We are recruiting for this role on a temp - perm basis offering an hourly rate of GBP11.98 to GBP12.38 depending on experience. This role will require a DBS check.
