They have an opening for a first rate Investment Funds Lawyer to join their growing team based at their London office.

About the Team

  • The investment funds group advises on all aspects of investment funds and pooled investment. This is from the initial structuring of a vehicle, to the legal, regulatory and tax aspects of establishing a fund and then on an ongoing basis advising in relation to its operation and promotion.
  • The group has a track record and expertise across a range of investment products, but is best known for its work on alternative investment funds.

About the Role

  • Work includes both onshore and offshore funds, and open and closed ended funds.
  • The team regularly work on the establishment of funds in the UK, Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands and the Channel Islands, as well as other key jurisdictions such as the US, Ireland and (for African funds) Mauritius.
  • They operate across asset classes, with a particular emphasis on real estate funds, infrastructure funds, renewable energy funds and private equity funds.

In addition to real estate funds, the team is widely recognised for advising on high value real estate transactions and investment and development joint ventures.

About You

  • Experience gained within a top tier firm is preferred.
  • It is essential that the candidate has a strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degree) with excellent written communication and drafting skills.
  • The successful candidate will also have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team.
  • The ideal candidate will have between 4 to 6years post qualification experience (or equivalent experience)

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Understanding of legal principles of own practice area, along with a working knowledge of other practice areas
  • Has project management responsibility, ensuring timely delivery to high quality standards
  • Stays aware of legal developments affecting any specialist areas and regularly attends appropriate training sessions
  • Has good working relationships with clients
  • Has a good understanding of client, the sector and the associated risks and opportunities.
  • Acts as a source of advice to others, sharing knowledge and expertise
