Red Snapper Managed Services provides investigation support services to UK and International law enforcement agencies, and we are seeking interest from specialist and experienced police investigators to support our international investigation support projects.

This is an opportunity to join an existing team of officers and provide investigation support for complex investigations to increase public satisfaction and reduce the fear of crime.

We are seeking interest from Investigators who come from a variety of backgrounds, investigating matters impacting on serious & organised crime.

Working with local officers, you will be investigating any reactive or intelligence-led operational activity, such as the review of digital storage media.

To be eligible you will have served within UK Policing within the last 5 years, PIP 2 accredited and be able to undertake a 5-month deployment from May 2024.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To perform the role of case builder, preparing complex files and schedules in support of complex Investigations.
  • Have individual responsibility for allocated crimes and actions, multi-task in different roles across a number of serious and complex investigations.
  • Support operational activity when suspects are arrested, including the seizure and handling of exhibits to evidential standards, interviewing witnesses, victims and suspects, taking statements and other follow-up enquiries. Support witness management including contacting and interviewing witnesses and supporting witnesses throughout the criminal justice process.

Knowledge and Experience:

The post holder must have extensive experience in the following to investigate and review cases and to quality assure processes:

  • Ability to plan and organise, manage priorities, balancing their workload and work to deadlines monitoring delivery to ensure the required standard is met.
  • Conduct criminal investigations together with the ability to interview witnesses and victims and interview suspects.
  • Knowledge of legislation and procedures relevant to the documenting, handling and storage of exhibits, the responsibilities and procedures in respect of disclosure.
  • Proven and well-evidenced experience in an investigative role and is able to understand the complexities and sensitivities of crime investigation.
  • Experience in the roles of disclosure, exhibits, and telecommunications and outside enquiries on live investigations.
  • PEACE trained.
  • Knowledge of major incident room procedures.
  • The ability to interview suspects and witnesses in accordance with current legislation and policies.
  • To independently exercise your own judgement in a consistent manner, within the confines of legislation and agreed procedures.
  • To analyse problems, make sound operational decisions and have a high level of persistence and self-motivation, in seeing investigations through to conclusion.
  • To interpret information quickly and effectively in order to select the right course of action.
  • Working under pressure with a methodical approach to work.
  • To organise, plan and prioritise competing workloads and a range of activities.
  • Working on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
