Do you have experience in supporting children with additional needs? Are you seeking your next role within education? Empowering Learning are delighted to be supporting a school in the DE3 area who are looking to appoint a classroom Teaching Assistant to work on a full time basis.

The role is full time and the contract will begin as soon as possible.

The school is based on beautiful surroundings and the hours of work will be 08:30 - 15:30.

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Holds at least one years experience working in a school environment
  • Can easily build relationships with children who struggle to engage in class
  • Has a TA qualification or a relevant degree
  • Will work effectively as a team player
  • Has a sound understanding of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum's

The main duties within the role will be:

  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis who present with a range of needs
  • Working closely with children who present with autism
  • Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO around progress of the children
  • Following the targets set on children's educational health care plans
  • Supporting the teaching and learning within the classroom
