Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant

Remedy Education are looking for an experienced Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant who has specific experience planning and running interventions with children who have a wide range of abilities. The role is in Newham, and is based at a 2 form Primary School covering interventions and SEN support across KS1 and KS2.

The role will be on a full-time basis starting in May 2024 on a long term basis. The working hours will be between 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. The weekly take home pay is between £340 - £400 per week depending on experience.

Key Roles for the Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant:

  • Work with class teachers to plan specific interventions.
  • Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions.
  • Support students with special educational needs
  • Use the school's assessment policy to inform class teachers of and potential progress of issues.
  • Assisting the class teacher when in class to maintain correct behaviour, and support children when needed.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively.

For the Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant the Candidate must have:

  • Must have relevant degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Will be resilient and resourceful when delivering interventions to overcome any potential barriers to learning.
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management strategies.
  • Be experienced working with SEN children.
  • Must be able to create engaging activities for each intervention.
