Job Title: Internal Civils Sales Manager

Location: Midlands, UK

About Us: Our client, a leading supplier of building, landscaping, civil, and DIY materials in the Midlands, operates multiple branches including locations in Birmingham and the Black Country.

Position Overview: We are seeking an Internal Civils Sales Manager to join our clients team and drive sales growth to the next level. The successful candidate will be instrumental in architecting a robust sales strategy, leading a team of Civils Executives, and ensuring exceptional customer service to their valued clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for a diverse range of high-quality drainage and civil engineering building products.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key client segments including main contractors, subcontractors, groundworkers, drainage contractors, earthwork contractors, RC frame contractors, and civil engineering contractors.
  • Lead and support the internal sales team to achieve ambitious growth targets.
  • Manage existing client accounts while actively seeking opportunities to expand the customer base.
  • Establish and monitor sales-focused KPIs for the internal team, facilitating seamless coordination between internal and external sales teams.
  • Provide regular reports and forecasts to key stakeholders and collaborate closely with Operations & Logistics to ensure smooth operations.
  • Drive branch turnover with the aim of achieving 100% growth over the next five years.
  • Stay abreast of market dynamics, competitor activities, and industry trends to maintain competitiveness.
  • Meet personal sales targets and oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of the civil sales team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales and negotiation, with a background in civils and merchanting preferred.
  • Strong decision-making skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team, with a focus on fostering initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Exceptional planning and organisational abilities, with the capacity to thrive under pressure.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills, capable of inspiring and motivating team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building rapport and negotiating effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and implementing sales plans to drive growth and achieve targets.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and a good understanding of civils and merchanting operations.
