Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be the recruitment partner for a successful international engineering business as they look to recruit an Internal Auditor for their team. With sites in the UK and internationally, this is a great opportunity to support the internal audit function across the Group.

The main purpose of the role is to assist and carry out internal audits in line with company accounting and control policies. You will undertake regular compliance reviews across each site, evaluating high risk areas and testing controls, processes and compliance with group policies.

The compliance reviews are a monitoring activity for the firm and provides assurance to the Audit Committee over the firm's financial and standard operating procedure (SOP) control environment.

You will report to the Group Head of Internal Audit and responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking internal audits on sites using standard audit programme across the Group in both the UK and oversaes
  • Performing internal audits remotely if necessary
  • Work with and support site management at each location to remediate any audit findings, verify the implementation of solutions and work on preventative actions for the future
  • To work within company Accounting and Policies requirements at all times
  • Share best practice on systems and procedures across the Group
  • Provide reports and analysis to the Head of Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance on progress of each site on a monthly basis
  • Prepare/ assist in producing clear and concise audit reports, documenting the outcomes and assurance opinion of each audit review together with practical recommendations
  • To work with and support the Group Head of Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance on the annual risk-based audit plans and to provide a robust annual opinion on the adequacy of the overall control environment
  • May need to help or provide advise to develop systems and processes in locations within the Group ensure compliant
  • Any other reasonable duty requested

Key skills:

  • Ability to work indepedently 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA/IIA qualified
  • Analytical skills
  • Some travel required

The role is based in Gainsborough but involves travel to Keighley as well as some international travel. There will be the opportunity to work from home when you aren't required to be on site.
