Tax Compliance Consultant

Birmingham / Hybrid
3 - 6 months
Preparing & guiding a large construction company on the run up to HMRC BRR+ review.

You will partner with CFO, Finance teams, external advisors & HMRC to look at Systems and Delivery, Internal Governance and Approach to Tax Compliance.

Comprehensive Tax Compliance Assessment:
Conduct a thorough review of the existing tax compliance processes, systems, and documentation.
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and potential areas of improvement in the current tax compliance framework.
Regulatory Update Implementation:
Stay abreast of the latest UK tax regulations and ensure the company's tax practices align with the current legal requirements.
Implement necessary changes to bring the company's tax compliance procedures in line with the updated regulations.
System Upgrade and Integration:
Collaborate with the IT and finance teams to assess the current tax software and identify opportunities for system upgrades.
Oversee the implementation of new tax technology solutions or upgrades to existing systems for improved efficiency and accuracy.
Documentation and Reporting:
Enhance documentation procedures to ensure comprehensive records are maintained for all tax-related activities.
Develop and implement robust reporting mechanisms to monitor and communicate tax compliance status to relevant stakeholders.
Training and Knowledge Transfer:
Conduct training sessions for internal teams to ensure understanding and adherence to updated tax compliance procedures.
Facilitate knowledge transfer to internal resources for the long-term sustainability of the upgraded tax compliance framework.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven track record in successfully leading tax compliance upgrades for companies of similar size and complexity.
Extensive knowledge of UK tax regulations and a deep understanding of tax compliance best practices.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex projects within established timelines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex tax concepts to non-experts.
