Adecco is recruiting for an Interim Senior Procurement Policy Officer for a London Borough Council

Our client is looking to drive efficiency, value for money, and procurement policies during a time of positive chnage throughout the organisation.

Term: 6 months with possibility of extension

  • 36 hours per week

  • Hybrid role with minimal expactacy in the office
  • £350 - £500 per day
  • Based in South London
  • IT equipment provided

Role Overview: As a Senior Procurement Policy Officer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our procurement policies and practices to secure efficiency and value for money during a period of change in procurement policy, both nationally and locally. Your expertise will contribute to achieving strategic objectives, promoting best practices, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to create and update procurement policies that align with organisational goals. Most notably this will include implementing the new Procurement Act and updating the Council's Social Value Policy.
  • Guidance and Training: Provide information and expert advice to colleagues at all level across the organisation, ensuring they understand and adhere to procurement policies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement processes.
  • Contract Management: Support contract management activities, including monitoring performance and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to foster positive relationships.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and efficiency in procurement practices.

About you: We are looking for someone who can match the following profile:

  • Knowledge of public procurement regulations in a local authority environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
