Opportunity to Lead a Multi-Disciplinary Team at a World-Renowned Institution

Our client is a prestigious and historic institution at the heart of one of the world's greatest cities. With a mission focused on education and learning, they are seeking an exceptional leader to join them on an interim basis as General Manager.

In this key role, you will head up a team of around 90 staff across multiple departments including catering, accommodation, sales, and facilities management. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to a diverse range of customers including students, staff, fellows, and commercial guests.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational people manager with a proven track record of leading large, multidisciplinary teams in a customer-facing environment. You will be a role model for excellence, with the ability to motivate and unite your team around a shared vision of exceptional service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strong leadership and support to direct reports including newly appointed Heads of Department
  • Building a collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement
  • Effectively managing resources across multiple cost centres and delivering against budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Representing the institution externally and fostering key stakeholder relationships

With outstanding communication skills and a consultative approach, you will engage closely with customers to understand their needs and manage expectations. You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to plan and allocate resources effectively to meet fluctuating demand.
