Hybrid - up to 2 days in our Tonbridge office, the rest from home

About The Company and Role

Founded in 1989, This business is family-owned and the UK's largest distributor of fine writing, stationery and gift brands. They distribute to a strong network of retailers including; Harrods, Selfridges, Liberty, WHSmith, Hobbycraft, John Lewis, Waterstones, and many more. As an exclusive UK distributor with over 30 years' experience, they guide their customers through the product selection process and support retailers with merchandising materials and content for their own marketing campaigns.

This 6 month maternity leave contract involves managing day-to-day financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Day to day duties include:

• Reconciling all bank accounts (Euro, US Dollar and Sterling)
• Responsible for ensuring all suppliers are paid on time
• Reconciling multi-currency accounts
• Processing and calculating quarterly VAT returns
• Posting all payments to sage accounting software
• Posting monthly stock figures onto Sage
• Checking and paying credit card receipts
• Processing year end accounts
• Working closely with auditors, being their first point of contact

Requirements

• Meticulous and detail-oriented individual
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Exceptional organisational skills
• Ability to maintain accurate financial records
• Experience in Sage would be a benefit.
