Interim Finance Assistant | Award-Winning Events Agency | Part-Time

Harmonic are delighted to have partnered with an award-winning events agency to find them a Finance Assistant as maternity cover for the next 6-9 months. Based out of their Northeast London office, they are looking for someone who will be available to start within the next 6 weeks and work for 3 days per week.

Made up of 3 businesses within the group, the Finance Assistant will support the CEO and Director across the whole group. As a values led organisation, they are keen to bring someone in who will not only be a culture fit but a culture add and buy in to the businesses ambitious, creative, and fun environment.

Our client put on some of the UK's best live events ranging from music, sport, and conferences, they have become a staple in the UK market and are looking to continue their growth. With revenue exceeding £5m last year, they are currently profitable and looking to use this capital towards further growth in 2024.

The Role

Our client is looking for an intelligent and versatile Finance professional who can work with the CFO & Company director to maintain financial records through forecasting, budgeting and tracking. Collaborating with other team members ensure invoices are processed and the payment run is processed efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update accounting records.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Liaise with creditors and prepare payment runs.
  • Manage debtors & collections.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Maintain cashflow forecasting & budgeting.
  • Use financial analysis to provide insights to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Support directors with ad-hoc operational tasks.

What we want to see (Essential skills)

  • Experience working in Finance, business management or Accounting.
  • Proficient user of Excel.
  • Experience using Xero.
  • A Desire to work in a fast-growth business.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
  • An understanding of accounting principles.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Skills

  • An interest in the events & Creative industries.
  • Previously worked in an agency.
  • Experience using Dext receipt software.
  • Previous experience organising payroll.

Salary: up to £40k pro rata

Location: London, Hybrid (2 days in office per week)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 6-9 months, 3 days per week.
