Intellectual Property Disputes Associate

The London based firm seeks an enthusiastic individual to join their growing intellectual property team.

The successful candidate will advise clients on patent disputes, develop long-term client relationships, deliver excellent client service, contribute effectively to firm initiatives, and build a solid foundation of expertise within IP law.

The Team

• The intellectual property (IP) team is highly regarded, aiding leading companies globally in utilizing IP to safeguard investments, secure competitive advantages, and achieve commercial objectives.
• The IP practice, nestled within the firm's renowned disputes practice, is currently involved in several significant patent disputes, particularly in the life sciences and technology sectors.

Examples of recent matters include:

• Technology and Telecoms: Representation of R2 semiconductor in UK High Court proceedings enforcing its patent against Intel, among others.
• Life Sciences: Counsel for Biogen in European patent litigation strategy concerning Tecfidera.
• Consumer: Defense counsel for Unilever against a claim under section 40 of the Patents Act 1977.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Qualified legal practitioner.
• 1 to 4 years of practice experience.
• Relevant experience in IP disputes and patent litigation, preferably with a science background.
• Strong legal skills, including drafting, negotiation, and project management.
• Understanding of law firm profitability and budget management.
