Our client are currently expanding their Infrastructure, Projects, and Energy team and are seeking an Associate to join their London office.

They are looking for candidates with a minimum of 1 year + PQE who can support the growing portfolio of major energy, utilities, and infrastructure clients.

About the Team

  • The Infrastructure Projects and Energy (IPE) team advises a diverse clientele, including funds, financial institutions, energy and utility companies, developers, and public institutions, on innovative and complex projects that often make headlines.
  • Comprising professionals from various non-projects transactional backgrounds like banking, construction, real estate, and corporate law, they offer a comprehensive training program to facilitate understanding of this domain.
  • The role will entail significant involvement in servicing international energy clientele, including occasional travel to Nigeria and other African jurisdictions.

Role Expectations

  • Under the guidance of a partner, you'll be responsible for drafting and negotiating finance, joint-venture, corporate, and commercial contracts related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Additionally, you'll manage transaction processes and oversee the contributions of junior colleagues.
  • The role involves advising clients on investments and operations across the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
  • Business development is strongly encouraged, whether through direct engagement with clients, at networking events or by providing training.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year + PQE experience from an international law firm.
  • Flexibility, agility, and a passion for expanding knowledge and experience in challenging IPE work are essential.
  • You should demonstrate the ability to lead complex transactions, collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines, and contribute to group development.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in infrastructure, energy, and transport are key.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality client care and actively engaging in client marketing efforts.
