Our client have an opening for their expanding Infrastructure, Projects, and Energy team for an Associate to join based in their London office.

The role will predominantly involve supporting our international energy clients, with occasional travel to Nigeria and other African jurisdictions.

About the Team:

  • The Infrastructure Projects and Energy (IPE) team advises a diverse range of clients, including funds, financial institutions, energy and utility companies, developers, and public institutions, on innovative and complex projects.
  • Many team members have backgrounds in non-projects transactional areas such as banking, construction, real estate, and corporate law.
  • They represent developers, sponsors, procuring authorities, funders, and public and private sector clients on some of the most challenging assignments in the market.

Role Expectations:

  • You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating finance documents, joint-venture agreements, corporate documents, and intricate commercial contracts related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Additionally, you will oversee transaction processes and supervise junior colleagues.
  • The role involves advising clients on their investments and operations across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • You will be strongly encouraged to engage in business development activities, including direct client engagement at networking events and providing training.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • The firm require an individual with a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience to contribute to servicing their growing portfolio of major energy, utilities, and infrastructure clients.
  • Flexibility, agility, and a desire to expand knowledge and experience in challenging IPE work.
  • Ability to lead in supporting complex transactions and coordinate with fee earners from other relevant disciplines.
  • Contribution to the overall development of the group, including training, precedents, and knowledge management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in infrastructure, energy, and transport.
  • High standards of client care and enthusiasm for client engagement.
