Fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team as an Indirect Tax Advisor, where you'll play a pivotal role in responding to indirect tax queries with precision and timeliness. Under the guidance of the Senior Indirect Tax Manager, you'll lead and oversee indirect tax projects, ensuring seamless execution. Your responsibilities will extend to the meticulous preparation of indirect tax returns, managing a substantial throughput exceeding £3bn while maintaining effective risk controls. Actively steering the accounting processes related to indirect tax returns, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring seamless risk management and adjusting any perceived control failures. As a strategic thinker, you'll actively seek opportunities to enhance value through process efficiencies and identify avenues for cash/EBITDA improvements.

Job profile

As a key player in the in house team, you'll be at the forefront of delivering timely and clear Indirect Tax guidance to the broader business, handling ad hoc queries from HMRC, and managing correspondence with HMRC stakeholders. Your expertise will shine as you provide Indirect Tax support during internal and external audit activities, taking charge of specific Indirect Tax projects and presenting insightful reports to engage with Senior Management.

You'll be entrusted with the accurate and timely preparation of indirect tax returns, submitting them to the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). This involves running and validating Indirect Tax reports, collating crucial information, and fostering collaboration with the wider business to ensure seamless provision of information for Indirect Tax returns. Your attention to detail will be pivotal as you resolve exceptions and queries prior to the submission of returns, showcasing your commitment to maintaining the highest standards in tax compliance.

Role is split 60% advisory and 40% compliance.

Candidate profile

You'll be part/fully qualified - CTA/AAT (or ACA equivalent), and experience of working in an indirect tax team.

Experience of M365, coupled with strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail will be your cornerstone of success, ensuring accuracy and quality in every aspect of your work. You'll be adept at fostering relationships with key stakeholders whilst seamlessly integrating into our collaborative team environment.

Ideally, you'll have a proven track record in working with SAP financials or a similar ERP system. Your accountancy prowess, especially in balance sheet and journal processes, will be an asset to our team. Navigate with confidence as you bring your expertise in operating control frameworks to the table. Ideally experience of VAT Reporting tools will add another layer to your skill set, making you an indispensable part of our innovative and forward-thinking environment.
