We are proud to be recruiting for an Indirect Buyer role for our client who is a leading engineering company that is providing an exciting opportunity add some extra firepower to the team!


With decades of experience, our client is a specialist engineering firm based in Nuneaton and this role would be perfect for someone with a strong indirect background across various categories. You will have a strong commercial acumen and Procurement background, with strategic procurement experience highly advantageous.


You will be responsible for end-to-end procurement across a range of categories and you ensuring that all products, materials and services are procured to get the best cost, terms and rebates. You will help ensure that all company and procurement strategies are implemented effectively throughout and work cross-functionally across a number of projects, where experience working in projects would be beneficial.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement procurement strategy as defined by the Head of Procurement.
  • Provide commercial assistance to the Purchasing and Engineering functions to ensure best practise and compliance is achieved within the function and share knowledge with junior team members.
  • Apply sourcing policies, liaise between suppliers and the business with regards to specification and budgets.
  • Negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers on new and existing projects and advise of impact of change on purchasing and production activities.
  • Lead negotiations to achieve business objectives and strategic direction.
  • Manage costs and work directly with suppliers to improve processing times.
  • Supply weekly project progress status reports to the Head of Procurement.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, support any audit requirement.
  • Act in a support role to cover the role of Supplier Onboarding Officer when the Supplier on Boarding officer is out of the office.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ Years within Procurement
  • Indirect Procurement experience
  • Experience working across the end-to-end procurement process and tenders
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Proven track record
  • CIPS Level 4+
  • Strong IT Proficiency
