Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for an Independent Living Scheme Manager to work with one of our Housing Association clients in Oxfordshire.

What the job will be doing

  • Manage and assess the dependency levels of customers, ensuring the scheme provides homes for people of varying care and support needs whilst maintaining a reasonable balance that facilitates and healthy and vibrant community.
  • Take the lead in the assessment of housing and support needs of customers and applicants to the scheme.
  • Carry out all day-to-day housing related tasks, including sign- ups and relevant tenancy action.
  • Meet all key business indicator targets including, income maximisation, void turnaround and complaints.
  • Manage a waiting list for the scheme, maintaining awareness of upcoming empty properties and liaising with relevant colleagues, including the asset sales team (in relation to shared ownership properties).
  • Remain fully engaged in all housing related issues pertaining to customers, including arrears and money management, ASBand repairs/maintenance of household. Provide appropriate support and guidance, involving other professionals or support networks as appropriate and agreed with customer.
  • Oversee the health, safety and maintenance of the building, ensuring that compliance requirements are met, and any health and safety concerns are addressed and/or escalated within an appropriate timeframe.

What you will need

  • Demonstrates a sensitive and supportive approach to the needs of older people.
  • Experience of supporting people to remain independent within their own homes.
  • Experience of carrying out assessments and identifying and managing needs/risks.
  • Experience of managing and motivating others.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of how to manage harassment and nuisance behaviour.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and experience of dealing with tenancy related issues.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make decisions, but within existing system.
  • An awareness of issues relating to Professional Boundaries and Safeguarding.
  • Experience, knowledge or understanding of the housing environment and tenancy management issues.
