Income Officer

It is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Income Officer to join a friendly and dynamic team in Surrey.

For this job role, a successful Income Officer will provide a coordinated, flexible and effective income collection service that maximises rents and service charges.

Temporary Contract: 2 Months

Monday to Friday: Full-Time

Hybrid and flexible working

Hourly Rate: £24 - £27 (depending on experience)

We are looking for someone who has:

• Worked as an Income Officer or in a similar role
• Managed a patch
• Welfare benefits knowledge and familiar with current housing legislation
• Happy to be paid £24 - 27 per hour (PAYE)
• Driver (car allowance is available)
• A high level of competence
• Available immediately or on a short notice

In this job role you will:

• Reduce accounts in arrears to meet monthly targets
• Manage a patch in Surrey
• Produce arrear reports and letters
• Advise residents, serve notices and conduct home visits
• Prepare support plans and achieve meaningful progression
• Identify individual needs and make referrals to the suitable provision
• Manage and recover debt from former tenant arrears
• Update records from all resident interactions, recovery actions and correspondence
• Liaise with team members across the housing services as well as external stakeholders, including DWP, Housing Benefits departments, courts, and advice agencies.
• Prepare court documents and paperwork relevant to rent posession cases as needed
