Our client has a thrilling opportunity for an experienced Import Team Leader/Supervisor with a specialised background in Courier Imports to join our esteemed client's team. This role is pivotal in enhancing the logistics operations.

Your New Role:

As an Import Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing logistical frameworks, specifically focusing on the meticulous adherence to customs regulations and the strict compliance with legal requirements. This position involves both a strategic oversight and hands-on management, including:

  • Performing and supervising daily customs clearance entries for courier and cargo imports (Air & Road).
  • Vigilant monitoring of Duty and VAT using sophisticated internal systems/software.
  • Ensuring unwavering compliance with all customs requirements, liaising effectively with border force, and EU customs.
  • Coordinating closely with internal departments, airlines, and HMRC, ensuring seamless shipment processes and efficient resolution of any issues.
  • Conducting weekly bond checks, managing the release of shipments from the warehouse, and overseeing general warehouse operations (though the role is predominantly office-based).

What We're Looking For:

  • Essential Skills and Experience:
    • Proven experience in Courier Imports.
    • Expertise in low value bulk clearance (BIRDS).
    • Proficiency in using Customs Declaration Service (CDS).
    • A track record of ensuring import compliance and adhering to HMRC regulations.
  • Desirable Skills:
    • Familiarity with Descartes (e-customs) and NCTS - T1 documentation.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
    • High level of customer service orientation.
    • Self-managing, proactive, and able to thrive in a team environment.
    • Competency in IT and general administrative duties.
