Peterlee (SR8) - Hybrid once trained (3 days in the office/2 days WFH)

Initial 12-month contract - has the potential to keep rolling for the right person!

36.5 hours a week, 07.00 start time daily with a lunchtime finish on a Friday!

Up to £16.45per hour PAYE (depending on experience) / Umbrella rates also available

We are looking for an Import, Export and Customs DutyAdministrator to join our client’s Duty team in Peterlee working hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH), they are an industry leader, and world-renowned brand who import and export worldwide! This is an initial 12-month contract, which has the potential to keep rolling!

What would the Import, Export and Customs Duty Administrator do?

  • Ensure import and export compliance, making sure all documentation is trade compliant.
  • Issue Clearance instructions and deal with Customs ports and Customs entries.
  • Handle daily import, export, and Customs activity with freight forwarders.
  • Export declarations, duty deferment payments and ensure full HMRC compliance.
  • Review Customs entries completed by brokers to ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with HMRC, freight forwarders and supply chain for bringing goods into the warehouse.


What experience will the Import, Export and Customs Duty Administrator need?

  • Previous experience and understanding of working within a Global Imports/Exports department.
  • Meticulous accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and communicate with other departments, and external third parties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work style.
  • The ability to work in an organised, planned manner and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ricardo, CDS or any ERP software (e.g., SAP, NAV etc.) experience would be beneficial.
  • Basic Excel skills/knowledge (v-look up would be an advantage).
