We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Hygiene Operative for a permanent role based in Rochester, Kent. The successful candidate will be an essential part of the team, ensuring that the highest standards of visual and microbiological hygiene are maintained across all areas of the site. The role is based on a Monday-Friday, 6am-4pm shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to ensure that the highest standards of visual and microbiological hygiene are always maintained
  • Assist with the delivery of the programmed machinery deep clean shutdowns
  • Follow all hygiene, food safety, quality, H&S procedures, and the company terms & conditions
  • Manual handling of goods up to 25 kg
  • Handle chemicals as per COSHH training and regulations
  • Operation of cleaning equipment during deep cleaning tasks and wash down of machines during scheduled shut down periods
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment

The ideal candidate for the role will have good practical skills, the ability to work quickly, methodically and under pressure, and the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Experience in handling chemicals and the ability to work effectively in both a hot environment and confined space is essential.
