Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting hydraulic services business based in Middlesbrough in the appointment of a Service Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilising their hydraulic design knowledge to drive and promote health, safety, environmental and quality standards across the business, carry out equipment assessment for repairs, replacements and modifications of hydraulic systems and contribute towards the commercial aspect of the Engineering division.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilise hydraulic design knowledge in hydraulic systems to produce basic part material list to identify appropriate equipment required.
  • Trace hydraulic systems and sketch accurate hydraulic circuits and part lists.
  • Carry out technical surveys to provide advice and recommendations for system upgrades and modifications.
  • Produce detailed technical reports on client systems and equipment.
  • Perform safe and effective function and pressure testing of all hydraulic equipment.
  • Attendance at site to carry out surveys, fault finding, repairs, and maintenance of hydraulic equipment.
  • Planning and mobilisation of equipment, materials, and resources for site activities
  • Lead site activities, including pressure testing and flushing activities, and producing the relevant document packs.
  • Commissioning, maintenance & fault finding for both open and closed loop hydraulic systems.
  • Lead on site teams, taking the role of company representative where required, including the supervision of employees and subcontractors.
  • Support account management of key customers, e.g., main point of contact on maintenance contracts.
  • Provide technical support to bids and proposal activity.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in hydraulics and also within a field service role.
  • Experience working in dual trade (mechanical/hydraulic/electrical/controls).
  • Experience leading site teams and subcontractors.
  • Level 3 qualified in a technical apprenticeship.
  • Level 3 qualified Technical Qualification e.g. BTEC or ONC.
  • Level 2 hydraulics qualification.
  • Valid & Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Be available to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally as and when required.
