Techniche are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer to appoint HV Electrical Engineer for their site in Cranfield. This role is working on HV Electrical Harness design and specification. Much of the work is based around cost reduction, reviewing alternative parts, suppliers, components etc. The role will involve understanding the Electrical Engineering design and specification, then reviewing against potential cost reductions, but in line with regulatory standards and quality.


Pay Rate:               up to £27p/hr PAYE+ holiday and pension pay
Location:               Cranfield, Bedfordshire - hybrid (3 days working in the office; 2 days WFH)
Duration:               12 months rolling contract
  
Role Responsibilities:
  • Generate & develop Cost reduction ideas for Low voltage & High voltage Harnesses, work cross functionally with other affected Design sections to deliver the ideas
  • Development of vehicle harnesses and other electrical components to Nissan design/test standards.
  • Managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to QCT. (Quality, Cost, Timing)
  • Managing in house and supplier validation of components
  • Countermeasure determination with Test groups.
  • Status reporting to management
  
Background And Experience:
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Understand electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices
  • Have fluent written and verbal English language capability.
  • Have Harness layout and application experience
  • Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections
  • Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques
  • Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development
  • Have good written and verbal communication
  • Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks and/or at short notice.
  • Competent with PC applications. Including Microsoft excel and project.
  • Self-motivating and self-managing. Pro-active. Positive. Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously
  
Materials and Equipment
The Company shall provide the following materials and equipment (which are reflected in the Fee for services). Such Materials shall be returned to the Company at the end of the assignment.
  • Office IT equipment including Lap top PC, monitor, keyboard, desk phone etc
  • PPE for activities in NTCE workshop or NMUK production line, ie. bump cap, safety shoes, hi-vis jacket, safety glasses, gloves.
