We are supporting secondary schools across St Helens who are recruiting for a temporary humanities teacher on a full time basis, for day to day, short term and long term cover.

Successful teacher will be asked to teach Geography, History and Religious Education to key stage 3 & 4 classes of varying academic abilities.

  • Minimum rate of pay - £120
  • Hours - 8:15 am - 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree educated with a good classification, (desirable to be in a humanities based subject)
  • Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Geography, History or RE
  • Previous experience teaching History to young people (which we can reference)
  • Experience of teaching in a UK Secondary School (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, training can be provided)
  • Up to date prevent awareness training that is issued in the last 3 years (essential, training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate that is on the update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide at least two professional child related references to cover the last two years
