An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Human Factors Researcher to join our thriving UK Medical Device Manufacturing Company.

We are looking to recruit a Human Factors Researcher who will be responsible for supporting product development by co-ordinating and leading usability and human factors research assessing the characteristics of the user interface for effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be working alongside the Design, Marketing and Regulatory teams to recommend product / user requirements throughout all phases of the design process with particular emphasis on evaluating the device’s usability in accordance to relevant standards and regulations. For the position, you will be required to take ownership for study planning, moderating, analysis, report writing and ensuring all documentation for the usability engineering file is completed compliant to the usability standard.

Essential Experience/Qualifications:

  • A university degree, or equivalent qualification relevant to human factors / usability
  • Knowledge and understanding of the usability standard BS EN 62366-1
  • Experience in conducting user research and formative / summative evaluations.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and their application within the product development field
  • Able to produce clear and concise documentation compliant to the usability standard to strict deadlines.
