Company Overview:

Our client specialises within composite products for safe access for a multitude of industries, sectors, and projects. They have over twenty years' experience in the manufacture, importation, fabrication, and installation of composite products. Starting off initially as a small workshop manufacturing premium anti-slip walkway surfaces, they have grown considerably offering bespoke solutions, and have worked with many high-profile national contractors.

Position Overview:

The positions focus is to ensure that the company's QHSE policies are followed and implement the necessary measures to ensure the proper functioning of activities and services. This is a highly important role within the business, and an experienced professional is required to ensure policies and procedures are aligned with government guidelines.

Also, developing and maintaining quality control processes to meet the needs of the company's client or customer base. As part of the role, you will also be designing health and safety measures and advising on their implementation to reduce the frequency and risk of workplace incidents and injuries and work-related ill-health.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain the OHSMS, EMS and QMS policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.
  • Establishing QHSE objectives, supported by targets and closely monitor and review their progress.
  • Provide support and advice at all levels of the organisation on Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental and Quality matters.
  • Provide proactive and up to date Legislative and Regulatory advice to the Senior Management on all matters relating to QHSE to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct Evaluations of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislative Compliance.
  • Be the point of contact within the organisation for any regulatory body.
  • Manage the internal QHSE audit process to ensure legislative, organisational and customer requirements are met.
  • Manage and coordinate the third party QHSE audit process.
  • Carrying out internal and external site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to.
  • Produce and maintain the organisation's QHSE Training Needs Analysis and Training Matrix.
  • Identify and procure specialist training for all staff and management team.
  • Produce and deliver staff inductions, training, coaching sessions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Produce Safety Packages (RA/MS) CPP's for all installation work.
  • Carrying out risk assessments ensuring that all documentation and method statements are up to date.
  • Responsible for taking the lead, investigating, actioning, reporting and reviewing accidents/incidents and issues of non-conformance to establish the root causes and preventative measures required as well as producing statistics.
  • Develop and manage the organisation's document and records control process.
  • Promote a positive QHSE culture.
  • Review company QHSE procedures and guidelines and ensure that they are being followed.
  • Ensure improvement of QHSE practices through staff, partner companies and suppliers.
  • Develop, update, and monitor QHSE procedures, policies and practices.
  • Train staff and supervisors on accident and injury prevention, product and process safety, and good work practices.
  • Assess and prevent health and safety hazards and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal and external audits on QHSE compliance and good practices.
  • Ensure that actions taken to improve QHSE compliance are followed.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the company's management committee on the implementation and monitoring of QHSE procedures.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of QHSE practices.
  • Enforce and apply current QHSE regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Customer onboarding and evaluations.
  • Maintain and provide information to support 3rd party accreditation's.

Salary: £35,000

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm/ Friday, 8am - 4pm.
