We have an excellent opportunity to join us, as a 'hands on’ HR generalist and be involved with all aspects of HR. Join a team that enjoys really getting stuck into their role and solving queries that come their way. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering a great employee experience. Someone who is proactive at making improvements to processes and capable of dealing with high volumes of HR queries.

You will have experience of working in a fast-paced HR role and will have the ability to build relationships at all levels.

THE ROLE

This is a fast paced role in a small team where you will be involved in a variety of tasks across the full employee life cycle, contributing to the provision of a comprehensive, and proactive service to managers and employees.

MAIN DUTIES

Policy Development

  • Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation
  • Update our Staff Handbooks with the April 2024 legal updates

Safeguarding

Act as HR safeguarding contact and work with the Designated Safeguarding Officer to ensure DBS checks and training are completed and incidents handled in line with safeguarding guidelines

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records on UKG our HR Information System
  • Drafting contracts and contractual change documents

People and Absence Management

  • Support the performance management process, including collating appraisal and objective documents.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance-related issues.
  • Support managers in conducting absence reviews
  • Monthly absence reporting
  • Complete occupational health referrals

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Oversee and administer the recruitment and selection process for casual staff, placing advertisements, setting up recruitment events, assisting and supporting managers in the organisation on the interview day
  • Actively promote vacancies via a variety of platforms
  • Draft job adverts, person specifications and job descriptions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective onboarding programs
  • Deliver casual and permanent inductions
  • Support employees during their probationary period

Learning and Development

  • Deliver in-house training workshops for employees and manager
  • Assist in the development of new training modules
  • Support apprenticeships and ensure apprenticeship levy data and systems are up to date and accurate

Employee Relations

  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations when necessary.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices

General

  • Assist the HR team with various projects
  • Support the company’s mental health champions to deliver wellness initiatives
  • Support the delivery of engagement events and activities
  • Production of HR reports for the Head of HR as required and use data analytics to drive continuous improvement within the department

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a generalist human resource management role
  • Experience with IT programmes and HR systems
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
  • To be CIPD qualified or working towards qualification
  • The ability to work accurately, with good attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic, excellent communication, and people skills

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Fixed term, 12 months
