Your new company
You will be joining a manufacturing organisation in Wednesbury who have an exciting new opportunity to join them as an HR Manager. This is an innovative, growing and conscientious business which has a presence in both the UK and Europe.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the employee lifecycle and enjoy a focus on planning, directing and coordinating HR management activities alongside maintaining processes across recruitment, onboarding training & development, personnel policies and regulatory compliance.
Key tasks involve

  • Be an expert in providing guidance, mentoring and support on the full range of HR activities (including labour law, policies, procedures, terms and conditions of employment, performance management, coaching, career development);
  • Leadership in company-wide organisation development process such as employment, recruitment, training, succession planning, workforce development, organisation design, and change management.
  • Manage complex employee relations
  • Create, review and update company policies, procedures and benefits packages in line with local legislation;
  • Take care about the communication within the location, and also promote company news amongst employees;
  • Re-design and deliver health and wellbeing initiatives to improve the health & safety of the workforce.
  • Responsible for administration of payroll, pensions and employee benefits;
  • Prepare & manage the local HR annual budget;
  • Prepare and analyse payroll data for an external company;
  • Report, monitor and improve HR KPIs (E. G absenteeism, retention, overtime, turnover etc.)
  • Cooperation with trade unions and external institutions (State offices, Temporary Employment Agencies)
  • Provide support and coordination for global HR initiatives and drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, working in an HR team, consisting of an HR Coordinator and an HR Advisor.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have to manage the HR function as a whole, including a team with the knowledge and experience of implementing positive changes/improvements to the HR functions, such as recruitment, culture and policies. This is a growing organisation, so these skills will be ideal.
You will also meet the following requirements:

  • Preferred 5 years of HR experience in a similar position
  • Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management or a related field, an MBA in HR or H&S qualification is advantageous.
  • Professional experience working in the manufacturing industry is proffered
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, recruitment, training & development, employee relations and its application
  • Experience in change management and transforming organisational culture;
  • Strong leadership competencies such as: social IQ, people development, ability to implement and business understanding
  • Strong specialist competencies such as: verbal and written communication skills; ability to work both independently and in a team; change management, target orientation, initiative and continuous improvement;
  • Excellent IT skills including MS packages


What you'll get in return
The salary for this role is £40000 - £45000 per annum and the role includes an early finish on a Friday. This is working with a business that is growing, giving you the opportunity to implement changes and working with a friendly and supportive team.
