About us

We are seeking to recruit HR Business Partners to join our friendly outsourced HR company based in Seaford, East Sussex. We are looking for qualified HR professionals who shares our passion, has a breadth of knowledge and/or experience within employee relations, and relishes a busy and friendly workplace where we are all office based (except for attending client meetings).

This is an excellent opportunity for HR Business Partners who are seeking a busy and varied role but have a flexible approach to adapt to our wide range of clients and sectors that we support. Our ethos is to ensure that we provide high quality HR support, in a friendly and practical way where we build strong working relationships with our clients. We recognise that every client needs a different level of support, a different approach, but most importantly, our HR professionals understand HR solutions in the wider business context.

Sussex HR Limited has been established since 2009, and it has expanded to include two sister companies. The team currently consists of 9 employees, increasing to 13 due to growth, and we need a HR Business Partners - Generalist and Employee Relations Specialist to join our team.

Working in an outsourced HR company is very different to working in-house as a HR professional, so we are looking for HR Business Partners who loves the challenge and want to develop, whilst being able to provide practical and commercial HR solutions.

This role will stretch HR professionals due to the wide breadth and variety of the role; but we love it!

Your expertise

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner - Generalist or Employee Relations Specialist - who has a love of managing and advising on complex employee relations issues?

Can you also provide generalist or employee relations specialist HR support to a wide range of different clients, thriving on the variety of strategic HR, to transactional HR?

Do you enjoy working in an office with a team of passionate professionals, working independently and as part of a team?

Do you have excellent interpersonal skills, and can write complex employee relation reports following an investigation process?

Can you work collaboratively with businesses helping them to achieve their people strategy and offer pragmatic and clear advice and guidance?

Key personal skills and experience

  • Ability to manage and guide on complex employee relations issues, generalist HR, strategic HR, and transactional HR.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and relationships with clients, and to explore HR issues thoroughly.
  • Ability to write complex employee relation management statement of cases, and HR letters without the reliance of template letters.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Employment Legislation
  • Experience in supporting managers in all aspects of HR, through attending meetings and proactively managing the HR processes.
  • The ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality HR service; ranging from answering basic enquiries to strategic HR.
  • Ability to provide clear HR advice and assistance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly.
  • Business acumen and the desire to build strong relationships with the managers you are supporting.
  • Ability to develop and sustain our reputation for providing a friendly, proactive, and supportive HR service to our clients.
  • Pragmatic and friendly approach
  • Thirst to understand the needs of the clients.
  • A sense of humour!

Our offices are based in Seaford, 20 minutes from Eastbourne and 30 minutes from Brighton.

A full, clean driving licence is essential, as is the use of your own vehicle, required to visit clients’ offices for meetings.
