Fusion People are looking for a passionate and ambitious individual to join a small, talented team in Bristol as a Maternity Cover for the Junior People Business Partner. This role is the ideal opportunity for someone with experience within a similar role but looking to make the leap into a more autonomous position which will give them access to develop their skills in developing and implementing people plans. The People Business Partner will support the delivery of the Group's People Strategy by providing effective, efficient and professional generalist people services to all managers and employees.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing strong, professional relationships and credibility with stakeholders, managers and employees
  • Acting as the first point of contact to make sure that people management decisions are responsive, professionally informed, fair, and consistent
  • Providing advice and support to managers, using influence and challenge as necessary to ensure the effective management of employee relations matters
  • Assisting in the provision of people support and guidance, in collaboration with the People Leadership Team on the full range of people issues such as resourcing, reward, employee relations, talent, performance, engagement, internal communications, organisational development/change, and L&D
  • Coaching and supporting managers in best-practice people management covering the full generalist remit in line with our policies
  • Maintaining the HRIS for all Group employees
  • Maintaining employee data files
  • Assisting the team in resourcing needs in line with resourcing processes
  • Providing people data analysis and insight for the Group Head of People in a timely manner, enabling informed, fact-based decision-making
  • Supporting with analysis of employee satisfaction surveys to improve staff engagement and satisfaction

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Further support to the Group Head of People as and when required
  • Other ad-hoc duties as and when required.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of working in a generalist HR/People role and supporting managers in resolving a range of challenging queries
  • Experience of stakeholder management across different management levels and with challenging individuals
  • A pragmatic approach, with ability to add value in a commercial sense
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Experience in coaching and developing line managers in employee relation matters
  • Experience of working in high-demand environments, to targets and tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify and rectify mistakes
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Understanding of the need to keep information confidential at all times
  • Able to coordinate and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks and do so under high levels of pressure
  • Self-motivated without the need for hands-on day-to-day management
  • Proactive approach, team player, taking responsibility and ownership for actions

Education Requirements:

  • Experience working within an office environment essential
  • Working towards CIPD Level 5 or equivalent

Other details:

  • Fixed Term Contract for 12-15 months
