The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor, with strong employee relations background, to join us and be a key member of our People Department. You will provide hands on case management, working alongside line managers across Wessex Internet to advise, coach and guide on a broad range of employee relations topics.

This pivotal role will report to the HR Manager and support a culture of our colleagues being treated openly and fairly whilst upholding employment legislation and our internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice to management on employee relations and management queries
  • Proactive case management of employee relations issues, such as investigation, disciplinaries, grievances, flexible working, absence, occupational health, performance management, capability and workplace wellbeing.
  • Advising on company benefits package
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation
  • Providing advice, guidance and coaching to line managers on employee relations issues, and policies and procedures to grow their knowledge, confidence and ownership of people issues.
  • Monitor and review staff absence
  • Provide advice and support to line managers and employees regarding any change in employment legislation
  • Upskilling managers with relevant training, to develop our pool of managers who can support employee relations cases at investigation, disciplinary and appeal stages.
  • Provide support on any organisation change initiatives including organisational re-design, changes to terms and conditions of employment, development, delivery and training on new policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong organisational skills, structured and able to manage multiple cases at any one time.
  • Effective conflict management skills and the ability to prioritise cases and liaise with colleagues as necessary.
  • Ideally CIPD Level 3 or in the process of working towards this qualification
  • A minimum of one years experience working within an HR Advisor role
  • Extensive and up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation and its application
  • Experience working in a fast-paced HR Team and ideally specialising in Employee Relations
  • Ability to identify the salient points, problem solve and provide a range of potential people centric solutions.
  • Leadership and business management skills
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Professionalism and an overall positive attitude
  • Good IT skills and usage (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ER analytical data)
  • Awareness of Employment Tribunals or ACAS conciliation processes desirable

Salary: £27,000 to £35,000 per annum, DOE

Role Type: Full Time/Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Hybrid - Office based near Blandford Forum, Dorset

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays?
