Housing Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Housing Support Worker on an ongoing, temporary basis with temp to perm potential. This is a full-time role, working 9am to 5pm across Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch.
Our clients' office is based in Salford and has a number of properties around this area, as well as Rochdale and Bury areas, so will be required to travel to these dispersed properties throughout the week to visit tenants within your caseload.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess and process possible admissions into the accommodation and determine acceptance, advising prospective new tenants on the Assured Short-Hold Tenancy Agreement, tenant's handbook and other relevant policies.
• Record and undertake pre-admission inspections of properties and voids, and carry out regular room inspections
• Supporting clients with housing & welfare benefit applications and enquiries, ensuring they are claiming/receiving the correct entitlements in order to be able to sustain a tenancy
• Report repairs required, faulty equipment, and ensure access to properties for maintenance & contractors
• Liaise with outside agencies on behalf of tenants, such as Social Services, Health Visitors, GPs, Benefits, and Home Office.
• Manage low level ASB and breaches of tenancy

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience of providing housing & tenancy support, guidance and advice to vulnerable client groups within a similar setting
• Good knowledge of housing & welfare benefits, and knowledge & understanding of short-hold tenancy agreements
• Driving licence with access to your own vehicle essential
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Confident IT user

What you'll get in return

• Weekly pay with hourly rates between £16.01 - £17.61 per hour and mileage paid 45p per mile from office when travelling to dispersed properties
