Your new company

You will be joining an established organisation which places the service user at the heart of everything they do. This organisation is focused on supporting vulnerable people in the community.

This organisation primarily supports service users whose lives have been held back by a range of social deprivation.

Your new role

This specialist team delivers an integrated model combining assertive street outreach with a multi-agency hub, facilitating provision of tailored support pathways for individuals who are rough sleeping, or involved in street activity in the borough. RTS Workers will deliver a range of interventions to tackle rough sleeping and street activity, ensuring the client group access services which meet their needs.

The service is aimed at those engaged in street activity, including:

  • Rough sleeping
  • Begging
  • Street-based drinking and public drug use

RTS workers will use assertive outreach approaches and tools including:

  • Responding quickly to reports of street activity and providing a borough wide service for contacting the street population
  • Full assessment of individual needs and risk
  • Onward referrals to housing, emergency accommodation and specialist support pathways
  • Reducing levels of anti-social behaviour associated with rough sleeping and street activity
  • Multi-agency working, planning and delivery in a dynamic setting
  • The successful delivery of the role supports the objectives of the team's strategy:
  • All rough sleepers in the borough receive a service offer, which means they no longer have to sleep rough and can rebuild their lives away from the street.
  • All those involved in harmful street activity are diverted onto appropriate service pathways away from the chaotic street setting.
  • Levels of anti-social street activity which impact on communities and businesses and cause harm to others are reduced.
