Position Overview: As a High-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects and year groups. Working closely with teachers and students, you will provide invaluable support in the classroom, helping to enhance students' understanding, engagement, and progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons, providing support to individual students and small groups as needed.
  • Differentiation: Adapt teaching materials and activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assist with the assessment of students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Behaviour Management: Support the maintenance of a positive and inclusive learning environment, implementing behaviour management strategies and providing pastoral support to students as needed.
  • Resource Preparation: Prepare and organise teaching resources and materials, ensuring classrooms are conducive to learning and teaching objectives are met.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to meet the individual needs of students and promote their overall well-being.

Qualifications and Training:

  • HLTA Qualification is Level 4
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools).
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of educational principles, strategies, and best practices for supporting student learning and development.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of students.
  • Additional training or qualifications in specific areas such as SEN support, behaviour management, or subject-specific knowledge would be advantageous.
