My client based in the Isle of Man is looking for an experienced Band 6 Histology Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract, starting as soon as possible.

The Role:

  • Job Title: Biomedical Scientist Histology
  • Band: 6
  • Location: Isle of man
  • Start Date: Oct 31st 2022
  • Working Pattern: 5 hrs p/w
  • Specimen dissection, either as a specialist BMS or assisting the duty pathologist
  • Preparation of tissue blocks
  • Subsequent Microtomy to produce stained histological slides
  • Non Gynae cytology
  • Specialist staining techniques

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registered as a Biomedical Scientist
  • BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or IBMS accredited qualification
  • Experience within a busy Cellular Pathology Lab environment
  • Able to cut 40+ blocks per hour
  • Embedding and special stains experience
  • Able to cut levels and serial sections
